Nhs dating scan
Anyone been told this early & it’s been wrong/right?We really don’t mind either way however just wondered whether we should stop saying it’s a boy just in case haha She was clear that it wasn’t a confirmed gender! She was fairly sure so we didn’t think any more of it.Friends (inc midwives) have said it would be impossible to tell this early on though.Typically, the earlier you can come in for dating scan, the more accurate your estimated due date will be.It’s worth keeping in mind that only around 5% of babies are actually born on their expected due date.
A dating scan will also confirm whether you are carrying a one or multiple babies.
I was told at 13 weeks (because the baby was likely to die before term and we wanted to name her).
Of course, it isn't guaranteed at any gestation, but she must have been very confident to offer to tell you at 12 weeks.
All of our sonographers are accredited by either the Health Professional Council, The General Medical Council, Society of Radiographers or the Royal College of Midwives.
We advise our customers to let their GP/midwife know they are planning to have a scan with us at Ultrasound Plus.
